Summer time fun...

Summer is officially here! We've had some fun these last couple of weekends...

But first, Kenny is 2 months old already! We are all surviving and getting a little bit of sleep. She is 11lbs 13 oz (75%), 22 inches (50%). She is starting to be more alert and aware of her surroundings. She has a very strong neck and tracks objects (especially Mommy) very well. We're working on her taking the bottle, since it's not her favorite! She's letting mom sleep pretty well at night- just gets up once!

Cade loves picking the oranges we have growing in our yard. He had fun stacking them up in his truck and transporting them to the house. The TONKA truck he's playing with is actually G's old one! A little rusty- needs a new paint job soon.

Cade loves spending time outside- in fact, we could leave him out there for hours and he wouldn't move very far! He's into arranging his toys and lining them up a particular way.

Cade started swimming lessons two weeks ago and it's helped him feel more confident at the beach. Although, he's not a fan of the waves and cold water- he does like playing in the sand!

Cade and Garrett had their first overnight camping trip last weekend.

Poles out at sunset, but no fish.

Cade isn't too happy because he was mad that the water was going to splash on him!

Mommy was worried about him sleeping in the tent, but he was knocked out from playing. Looks comfy with his Cars pillow and Star Wars sleeping bag!

Monthly trip to the Maui Ocean Center! Kenny's first time!

Our friend, Kenna, came to visit! Look how cute and big she's getting! Cade and Kenny have the same hair style

Took us three tries to get a decent picture! First, Cade wasn't in the pic. Then he and G moved. Finally three out of four of us were looking/smiling nice.

Six weeks!

Noticed new blog backgrounds, so decided to change it up a little. Had a hard time deciding on a new one- so many cool ones to choose from!

FINALLY a nice smile from Kendyll! At 5 weeks, she started smiling and cooing, but we weren't able to catch it on camera! Cade was nice enough to share his Cars pillow- he gets very possessive!

Since Cade was a baby, he's always loved music. Garrett has been playing this Hawaiian song, for him and all of a sudden he has become attached to it. He grabs his "drum", which is really a guitar, and asks for "drums" on the computer. He'll pull you to the computer and point til you put it on. He could listen to it for hours if we let him. We also just recently made the mistake of playing the cd in the car, so now he knows he can listen to it in there too!

Kendyll's first time to the beach. We joined Garrett's family and rented some stand-up boards. It was so much fun!

Gammie bought a pair of shoes in two colors- one for her, one for Cade!

No, I didn't make a mistake and post the same picture twice. One is Cade, one is Kendyll!
Can you tell the difference? No cheating and looking at the stuff in the background- if you went to our WA house, you might be able to tell. It was just a big coincidence too that they're both wearing the same pajamas! Kendyll is on the left, Cade on the right.

We went to help Gammie clean her classroom and Cade discovered the kitchen play area. For some reason he wanted to hide inside the oven! After we look back on this, we realized this probably wasn't a good idea, but at the time it was pretty funny! He was so insistent that I close the door too!

It's been a month!?

It's been a little more than a month since Kendyll was born. Hard to believe where all that time went! Our little "bamboocha" (for those of you not familiar with our slang- it means big, large, giant. Pronounced bomb-bu-cha) is gaining weight very well. She's up to about 10 lbs! Fits into 3 month clothes very well- in fact, we had to give her hand-me-downs to her friend, Kenna, who was born on the same day!

Cade enjoying his yogurt, while Kendyll eyes it out.

Hard to believe, but Kendyll doesn't smile much. These are two recent smiles I captured. Can't wait for more that aren't caused by gas!

Everyone comments on all her hair. Thanks Aunty Lori for the cute bows!

Cade locked himself in his jail

Our 22 month old has an affinity for lining his toys up. He even makes sure it's perfectly straight!

Look carefully! I turned my back and this is where I found him! Good thing it wasn't higher...

This is how you entertain a 22 month old for hours! Ok, not hours in a row, since he also gets easily distracted. But, every 10-15 min he would come back and feed his piggy, which makes obnoxious snorting noises. Thanks Aunty Joc!

This dirty face has come to be a norm in our house. He goes straight into the bath!

Last week we attended two graduations on one night! First, Rysee graduated from preschool! Yay Rysee!

Then we rushed over to congratulate Caitlyn from graduating from high school! Go Caity! Cade was in awe of the stadium lights, people and leis. His facial expression didn't change the entire time we were there!

Life with two kids...

It's only been about three weeks, but we admit that transitioning to having two kids was much easier than when we transitioned to having Cade. The major aspect we had to adjust to again were the midnight feedings! We can't grumble, though, Kendyll is a very sweet and calm baby. She can go about 3-4 hours between feedings already- something she has done since birth- and has even gone almost 6 hours at times! Cade wanted to be fed every 2 hours... so we are getting a little more sleep with her.

Here's some of Kendyll's faces:

A full tummy

Big YAWN!

I'm HUNGRY-NOW!

OH!

Kendyll is growing very fast, but we are all still surprised at how tiny she is compared to Cade. She grew 2.5 inches and a full pound since birth!

Cade is also doing a lot better with Kendyll. He still has his jealous moments, but he's willing to share his toys with her and give her lots of love and kisses! We're working on being gentle with her.

One of Garrett's physical therapy books was in the living room, so Cade decided to start reading and looking at the pictures.

Cade exercising on Garrett's pull-up bar. Looks more like gymnastics or ballet to me!
Garrett couldn't resist buying Cade his first golf club.

Kendyll...

What an entirely different birth than Cade's. Kendyll made it to her planned c-section date. It was very strange and weird to know the last day I would be pregnant with her and it not be a surprise!
The surgery and recovery went very smoothly with no complications! Yah! We were shocked at how much she looked like Cade at birth, but now she's developing her own look.

Cade meeting Kendyll for the first time- had to bribe him with some french fries first. He wasn't too thrilled, but warmed up to the new baby- I think since she didn't come home with him for the first couple nights.
Cade playing peek-a-boo in the hospital room
There's a cool story behind Kendyll's pregnancy and birth. One of my very good friends, Daeni, and I called each other back in September to share some good news- we were both pregnant and expecting babies in early May. As both our pregnancies progressed, another good friend, April, asked if she would be able to come home to meet both babies at the same time. That's when we figured we would try to room together in the hospital! We both delivered via c-section by the same Dr. on Monday- about 2 hours apart. Kendyll made her first friend, Kenna, immediately!
Kendyll (left) and Kenna (right). Kenna is much more petite than Kendyll: 6lbs 6 oz and 19 inches. Kenna is also a lot more shy and quiet! She barely cried at all! Poor Kenna had to listen to Kendyll fuss a bit!
Getting ready to leave the hospital
Look at this rascal face! Cade has been a little jealous, but is getting better at adjusting to the new baby. He isn't too happy about not being able to get too close to Mommy, but is getting plenty of love and attention from Daddy, Gammy and Aunty J.
Kissing Kendyll- she doesn't look too thrilled!
