We're in!

Finally moved into the new upstairs! Here's a preliminary pic before we moved up everything. We're happy it's starting to look like a bedroom and we have more space to spread out.

Cade and Daddy playing in the loft on the new carpet.

Now the next focus is the new downstairs. This is a pic of mom's big craft room! Nice space, huh! She will have counters under the windows and lots of cabinets on the wall.

Here's the new family room. The door in the pic on the left will lead to the old part of the house. Eventually to the new dining room and kitchen. The pic on the right is the wall where the new entertainment center will be. This pic was taken last week, and already there's been a lot of progress- the dry walls have been textured and were painted today! Once the flooring goes in and plumbing and electrical are hooked up, we'll be good to move in there too!
Some current pics of the "little princess"/miss personality. clockwise from top left: She celebrated her first Girl's Day; too bad she's too wiggly to sit still in front of the pretty Girl's Day dolls. Now that she has almost 7 full chompers, we've started brushing her teeth! She now responds to "cheese!" with a cute smile. I couldn't resist buying her sunglasses! Aren't they stylish!

While we were unpacking, we found all our snowboarding gear, including Cade's goggles!
Reminiscing a little: here's a pic of him at 7 months wearing them! Oh, look at that face! (the baby, not the weird guy behind). :) Just kidding...

The Millards visit!

Some of our favorite friends, Darin and Erin, came to Maui for the weekend. We took advantage of the time they were here and had a blast! The love between Uncle Darin and Aunty Erin and our little munchkins is so awesome to watch! We can't wait for them to have some of their own! :)
Garrett and Darin went out stand-up boarding. Cade and I played on the sand and whale watched!

Busy February!

FINISHED Master Bathroom! It came out better than we had ever anticipated! PHEW! Glad everything matched so well.

Cade- loves helping Daddy. Painting in his undies, reading the newspaper to check out all the cars and big trucks, and playing in the sand! Doing very well with the potty; we've even gone out in public with big boy undies and he tells us when he has to go!
Kendyll- happy, active little 10 month old! LOTS of teeth coming through the gums, so she drools a lot!!!

Garrett's cousin Chase got married on 2/22. I was lucky that Sherie let me make her bouquets! Cade was my model in his undies!
Chase with his girls and their mini bouquets I made for them.
Cade with Chaz boy. Cade has this thing for pockets; he's fascinated with them!
 Family pic- our best attempt

February update...

Our master bathroom is almost done! We're hoping to be moving in soon!
Master closet- waiting to be filled!
Cade has gotten pretty good at using the Ipad! Oh my! It's amazing how technological he is. He loves to do puzzles and practice writing his alphabet.
We have barricaded Kenny as best we could, but Ms. Houdini found an escape- UNDER the chair! We thought her head was too big! Time for some big gates...

Dry wall!

Yes, we have walls up! It's getting more and more exciting! Not sure exactly how much time until we can move in, but hopefully SOON! Now you can see the rooms better. We'll give you a small tour...
This is a look down the hallway from the loft into our master bedroom. The door on the right is the bathroom. The door on the left is the walk-in closet.
This is in the bathroom. The vanities are behind me; you're looking down the small hallway to the shower and tub. We actually changed the initial layout to this, after we stood in the "potential" shower and felt it would be too small. The half wall on the left is hiding the shower. Straight ahead is a tub.

Closer look of the tub. Hard to tell, but there's a walkway between the tub and shower.
 Looking into the shower.
Standing in the hallway, looking into the bathroom. The double sink vanities will go on the left. The shower/tub walkway is on the right, and so is that water closet- fancy for toilet room!
Looking down the hallway in the opposite direction- from the bedroom to the loft. The yellow wall is the existing house- on the other side is the existing stairs- when the contractor and builders are ready, they'll tear it down so it all connects. Right now it's our "dust" barrier! So, in case you're like Garrett and get lost easily- the walk-in closet is now on the right and the bathroom on the left.
Sorry, didn't get a picture after they cleaned up the mess, and it's too dark to go outside right now, but this is half the master bedroom. The four small windows give us a good view of Haleakala. This side is where the bed will be. You can see the ceiling is vaulted.
The other half of the master bedroom. You can sorta see the door on the left from the hallway. The slider doors lead out to our deck. This side of the room we plan to put the tv and a small couch to relax/read/hide from the kids.

Maui had a lot of rain this past week- enough to cause lots of flash flooding in Kihei. We went out Saturday afternoon. I was trying to catch the sunset and different lighting and when I posted these pics I realized I inadvertently caught the West Maui mountains in two different shots that could be combined! Cool huh! Even though it looks so beautiful, the water was EXTREMELY dirty- like chocolate milk. Not good to swim or play in.
I know, hard to complain when this is what we get to call home. We hope everyone's 2011 is off to a good start!
