Happy 5 year Anniversary...

 We celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary on 11/11/11 this year. A couple months prior to the date, we discussed the possibility of staying at a hotel to celebrate, but our 1st choice hotel didn't have Kama'aina (local) rates available. We forgot to tell my mom our plans changed, and wouldn't be staying at a hotel anymore, so she asked Wednesday night before Veteran's day. Well, I decided to double check- low and behold- Kama'aina rates available! Thanks to Grandma Carol and and Gammie for watching our kids for a night (Cade went to Grandma Carol's and Kenny stayed with Gammie).

We were both so tired, plus I had a cold, that after dinner we just enjoyed watching TV without kids crying/fighting!

The main reason we wanted to stay at the KOR was for the kid pool. What kid wouldn't want to play in a pirate ship pool! The surrounding water is 8-18" so C & K loved it! Our moms brought them out the next morning to join us for a day of sun! There's a few different pools on property-depending on your age. We tried going to another pool with a big, winding slide, but Cade was too small to go on!  Oh well, just another reason to go back!

 We rode down the slide! The weather wasn't the greatest- this is usually the HOT side of Maui, but a small storm brought in some light showers and wind! But, the kids were troopers and enjoyed spending time in the pool for the morning.

 Kenny wasn't too thrilled about the slides. Especially after we both unexpectedly went under water on a smaller slide (see pic below- there's a tunnel slide behind Garrett's head). She kept shaking her hands and saying "all done! all done!"

Happy Birthday G, Aunty Lisa visits, and Pumpkin patch/party...

We celebrated Garrett's 30th birthday at the end of September. He celebrated with a trip to Vegas with his buddy, Uncle Brent. No pics; apparently what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas- I guess that's true about his money. :(

The annual Maui County Fair occured the first weekend of October.

 C had fun playing games this year. He's trying to win Mommy and Kenny the BIG Hello Kitty! Shucks, no winners here.

 This was K's 1st time to the fair. Last year she stayed home with Gammy since we were getting ready to go on a trip to the mainland. This year she enjoyed herself, the food, rides, and atmosphere! She loved the carousel- when it wasn't moving! Then when it started, she freaked out a little!

C also wanted to ride this helicopter one. He didn't want to go alone, so Daddy went too!

 

Aunty Lisa came home for 7 days for a wedding! 

We had a fun time shopping with her and showing her the finished house!

 We enjoyed the Kula Pumpkin patch again! The kids smiling! Yay- K finally is able to smile and say cheese!

 C was on a mission to find the perfect pumpkin! There he goes!

 Kenna had a Halloween party after the pumpkin patch. Kendyll and Kenna (birthday buddies!) are checking out each others' costumes! We knew Kendyll wouldn't keep anything on, so lucked out when G brought home these Angry Bird shirts from LV!

There were other Angry birds at the party too! C made a new friend!

We took the short hop over to Oahu this past weekend for our very good college friends' wedding- Lynn and Kyle . About a week before our planned mini vacation, we discovered Kyle (yes, a different one) and Trisha would be there! Thank you facebook for keeping us informed of each others' travels!

The real reason we traveled to Oahu was for the wedding of our dear friends from college, Lynn and Kyle (yes, another Lynn... and another Kyle). During rehearsal, the kids weren't paying attention- instead wandering and running around the beautiful grounds of  Lanikuhounua- near Kapolei, in the Koolina area. What a beautiful place! 

 

We splurged and spent one night at the Ihilani. Look at this view!

It was a coincidence that my Uncle and Aunty were there helping with a golf tournament too, so we were able to get ready in their room while we waited for ours. 

 The morning of the wedding, we decided to venture down to the beach to let the kids play. The beach in front of the Ihilani is a small lagoon, so the big waves don't come crashing in. Once Cade realized that, he loved the water; Kenny, not so much. They both had fun in the sand though.

 The pretty flower girl! Lynn (the bride) chose her cute TOMS shoes! We were bummed that Kenny's big feet are already starting to outgrow them! :(   The dress is from Gap, and Lynn gave me the ok to "bling" it up- so I added a white belt, flower trim, and a larger flower to the empire area.

Cade wore a simple button-down Gap shirt that I found reeeaaaallly cheap ($9) and some Quiksilver grey shorts to match the guys grey suits. Then he topped off his outfit with some cool grey Converse! We even put gel in his hair, but it didn't last long.

 The kids weren't interested in taking nice pics with the wedding party. This might be the only one that they're both smiling in! :(

 One of many cool details from the wedding was an ice cream truck that drove in! It was neat- with the music and all. We spoiled the kids and got them their own kid-size cones...

And, unfortunately, the kiddos didn't walk down the aisle themselves. Once Cade saw the audience, he started to panic and got shy. I ended up carrying Kenny and holding Cade's hand down the aisle. But, no worries Aunty Lisa- according to Gammy, the kids have lots of time to practice for your wedding: 5 years to be exact. Ha ha ha!

"House" updates...

  Two different "House" updates...

First, Cade had an Open House at his preschool. They asked that no siblings come, so he was able to enjoy showing us all his toys and friends! He basically ran around from one activity/toy to another- there were LOTS of times where we didn't know where he went because he was so fast and there were lots of people! It was fun to see him so independent! Our little boy is growing so fast!

The second "House" update is about our renovation! It's nearly DONE! That's amazing to be able to say now, since we've gotten used to saying- "almost, just a few more things!"

When we spill something, we have a bad habit of using our feet. Well, the two little ones watch us and have started cleaning like that too! 

A few weeks ago Garrett participated in the annual Hana Relay Race. His coworker formed a team and they dressed up as pirates. We made the trek (thanks to our cousin, Dayne, for keeping me company!) to Hana. The kids were sooooo good- they didn't get sick nor complain. They slept most of the time!
