Las Vegas... Part 2

Day 4, Monday...

We spent several hours at the new Children's Museum. The kids LOVED it!
All sorts of play areas...
animal costumes...
Just a HUGE, cool place for them to have fun!

They were told NOT to get wet!  Good thing we were on our way out and I had extra clothes in the car!

That night we had our last family dinner since everyone was starting to leave the next day. We tried a Brazilian restaurant called Texas de Brazil. They come around with all sorts of meat on skewers and carve it on your plate! So yum!

Day 5, Tuesday...
A low key day. We took Papa Dean shopping for car parts and to lunch while Cade and Garrett went to shoot guns with his friend.

Then we went to the Venetian and Palazzo. Garrett stayed there last year for a conference and has been EAGER to show us how nice the hotel was.

Grandma wanted to play BINGO!

Our elevator girl... there's a funny story attached to this photo. On the first day we were in LV, the two kids were eager to be pressing the elevator call button outside and then the floor buttons inside. Well... a little too eager. In the hotel, there was one elevator designated as the "service elevator" for the staff. It opened one day while we were waiting and Kenny RAN in, wanting to be first to press the buttons. Before I could tell her to get off cause that's not one we can use... the doors closed! A housekeeping lady had just come off and had a look of panic on her face too as the doors closed! She pressed the buttons and for the few minutes it took the elevator to come back... I think there was a little bit of anxiety in all our faces! Luckily... the doors opened... and there was our little Kenny... crying! Poor thing, but smart girl! She had stayed on when it went to another floor to pick up a maintenance worker, who asked her "what floor are you on?" Lucky she knew! For the rest of the trip... she was very hesitant about entering elevators without holding someone's hand!
*She didn't want to even take this photo. Cade is hiding to the side, pressing the door open button so that the door would stay open for the photo! Too funny!

Day 6, Wednesday...

We said GOODBYE to Las Vegas and drove to Anaheim! The first leg of our trip was a huge success!

The drive wasn't bad! There was some good outlet shopping half way, which made for a nice and convenient pit stop and stretch break.

It was HOT though! Got up to 117 F as we drove through the desert!

Next up... DISNEYLAND!
