Random update...

Cade has been keeping us very busy! What an active toddler! Here are just a few new things.
He loves climbing. When given the opportunity, he climbs up or into EVERYTHING! Sometimes it can be quite funny and entertaining, but other times it can get dangerous!

Cade's first bites of ice cream! YUM!
Cade is quite the accomplished shopper. On a recent trip to Oahu, Garrett found this cute hat for him, which he loves (sometimes!). All the excitement of shopping and attention he received from strangers made him sleepy...

I don't know who was having more fun playing ball, Cade or great grandpa!

Lastly, SURPRISE! Cade will be a big brother in a few months. I am about 17 weeks along so far. This pregnancy has been a little different; I had morning sickness for a couple of weeks, but it was in the evening. Now I feel fine, but very tired. It's hard to tell if it's the 16 month old we have running around or all the hormones in my body going crazy! No real cravings like I had with Cade... it has been more G having ice cream or icee cravings in the night time!

November already!

Happy Belated Halloween! Cade and his friends at daycare all got sick with a bad cough the week of Halloween, but they were still able to find energy to carve cute pumpkins.

Cade had to practice wearing the costume because he was not thrilled at all!
All the practice paid off! He even learned to "roar"...sometimes.
Gammy found these cool foam blocks at Costco. Cade has learned in the last few weeks that the shapes fit into each other. It has been very amusing to see him use his problem solving skills!
We love to take Cade outside and walk down the driveway to get the mail. Along our trees we have our friends, the Jackson chameleons. I don't know how I spot them so easily, especially this tiny guy!
We must talk on the phone a lot because Cade has been mimicking it for awhile. He puts everything which looks like a phone up to his ear and says "hi".

Update...

Cade loves the sand and beach! We met Garrett's cousin one evening as they fished and Cade played with his cousins in the sand. Copying his cousin make sand angels!

Brushing his hair after his bath
The annual Maui County Fair was the first weekend of October. It is not nearly as big or overwhelming as the Puyallup Fair that we've gotten accustomed to in WA. We haven't been to the County Fair since high school! We were very excited to go and eat all the great food, but Garrett was more excited to take Cade on some rides. It was a very HOT afternoon and Cade didn't take a nap, so I think he was a little dazed about the rides and didn't know what to think!
A smile on the carousel!

August and September happenings...

Things are going very well on Maui; settling in and adjusting to living here.
Our college friend, Tammy, visited from Japan. We went up to Rice Park to check out a wedding spot for her! Congrats Tammy!
We hardly drive around the Kahakuloa side (the head) of Maui, so we ventured off one Sunday to do so. The road is in pretty good shape- paved most of the way. We both haven't been around that side for at least 5-8 years, so it was nice to see all the views!

Met up with Grandpa Dean in Lahaina and hung out at the car show.

Cade had his first bites of furikake (salted seaweed) frenchfries and LOVED it! Needless to say, it made a mess all over his tiny fingers, but it was worth it!
Cade's cousin, Chaelia, had her 2nd birthday party at a park. Cade wasn't too fond of the swings at first...
but then caught on and enjoyed himself!
We have a few resident Jackson chameleons in our trees, so I caught one and showed it to Cade. He was really scared of him at first!
It took Cade a few minutes to touch the chameleon, but then he was too interested in it!
We had our 10th high school class reunion over Labor Day weekend. Our very good friend, April, came home from LA to enjoy the festivities! We were so happy to see her and for her to meet Cade! Isn't she sooooo dark! I told her my goal is to be that dark one day (when I was younger I used to be pretty tanned from golfing...but not anymore!)

Boo-boos and sign language...

Well, like we mentioned earlier, we have a rambunctious toddler. He confirmed this when he fell and bonked the couch at just the right spot to receive 2 stitches to his lip. I think it was more traumatic to Gammy and Aunty Jocelyn, than to Cade. The stitches have come out and it is healing very nicely!

Cade loves to throw his head and body backwards when Daddy carries him. It's scary when you're not expecting it!
You can see the lip is healing well, but if you notice he has a small black eye on the left side! He bonked the handles of a toy car he was playing with. (Sigh)...

After many months of showing Cade sign language, he has finally started to use them! He knows more, eat, and milk! He just decided one day he was going to use them! Now we have to learn more signs to teach him!

Walking, peek-a-boo, and a birthday celebration...

Sorry, we've been busy getting situated, so the blog has once again been neglected. We've had a very busy July fly by! Cade had MANY milestones this month. In a span of about a week he learned to play peek-a-boo by covering his face, throw kiss, smile, and WALK! Yes, we now have an official toddler! He learned to walk so fast! One day we were counting 2 steps, the next day it was 17, and by the third day he was walking everywhere. Cade playing with his birthday cake on his real birthday

Centerpieces; we covered his formula cans in Transformer wrapping paper and stuck a label on them. We covered candies in celophane and attached them to a stick and made them stick out the cans. I found these cute Transformer paper boxes to make and made them also stick out the containers.

Beach time! Playing with daddy and Uncle Thomas. Uncle thought it was soooo fun to play in the sand again and was glad he had an excuse to do so.
Relaxing on comfy Aunty Lisa
I know my friend Heather is going to roll her eyes at this picture, but we're starting to potty train Cade. This picture sums up what he thinks of the situation!

Moving...

We have officially moved back to Maui! Everyone, including Sporty, made it here safely! It still feels like we're only here for a visit. I think once Garrett starts work next week and I get a job (fingers crossed!) then maybe it will feel like we live here. We've been trying to settle in and start organizing, but the humidity makes us very sluggish! Plus, our albino skins need some sun!
We took Cade to the beach for the first time. Lathered on SPF 50+ every half an hour and after we dunked him in the water. He tolerated the water and sand;definitely needs to get accustomed to it! He hated the cold shower to rinse off all the sand!
Cade is such a flirt. He would stare at all the girls who walked by or were near us and wait until they made eye contact. Then he would give them his dimply smile. Aaahhhhh we gotta watch out for this boy!

Oh, and Cade just started taking a couple of steps on his own! He's also standing and just trying to catch his balance more and more everyday!
