Uncle Kyle visits!

Kyle visited us a couple weeks ago! The kids were so excited since we haven't seen him for almost two years!

First stop... guri guri! YUM!

Second stop... shave ice! WHAT!? Yep, within an hour (or less!) we had both delicious treats since it was such a hot day! The kids IMMEDIATELY hope Uncle Kyle visits more often if they'll get to have BOTH treats in one day! :)

While Kenny napped a bit, Cade enjoyed showing Uncle how to play baseball. They had so much fun running around!

Of course Sporty was happy to see Uncle too! He even got a couple of new toys!

Kenny loved holding Uncle's hand everywhere we went!

We lived with Kyle during PT school and then he also moved into an apartment and our house with us after. I had to get used to Garrett coming home after work and immediately having work conversations with him. Well, this trip was no different. They talked a lot of PT lingo... but it was SO CUTE to see Cade get in on the action with his own computer!

They stood there working for quite awhile!

Kyle was here during the weekend and Garrett had a baseball game in Lahaina. We decided to try out a new restaurant after we dropped Garrett off at his game. Slappy Cakes is a pretty new place that lets you make your own pancakes! It also has other food to order which is quite yum!

Looking at these pics... you can just hear Kenny's contagious and loud laugh! She was having so much fun!

Cade loved making sure everyone ate their "initial" pancakes!

Playing tea party during Daddy's game

We walked around Front Street in Lahaina after the game and came across these shirts...

I think their unrehearsed facial expressions make it hilarious!

We played tourist and stopped in at the infamous Banyan tree

While the kids were both occupied at school, we took Kyle stand up boarding! Don't worry- we went to the west side of Maui- away from the recent shark sightings!

Garrett and Kyle catching the same wave... right before Kyle cut him off and then fell. :)

It was a beautiful day!

Three days with Uncle Kyle wasn't enough! They were so thrilled when he said he'd take them to Oahu! Oh oh... there were some tears and tantrums once they realized he was only kidding! Uncle Kyle learned a lesson that afternoon- don't joke about taking our kids on a trip! Cade was ready to pack his bag and go!

Sporty misses Uncle Kyle... he's been checking and waiting by the bedroom he stayed in! :(
Thanks for a fun weekend Kyle! Kids are still talking about how much fun they had with you and how much they miss you! We miss you too and can't wait for our next get together... maybe in Hawaii once you move home! Maui is nice... just saying!

August catch up...

Ahhh- it always seems to happen that I forget to post in August and have to play catch up. Ok- here's a little of the first two weeks or so.

Tropical Storm Flossie made her presence known for about 30 min here. All day we had really hot and humid weather, and overcast skies. Then about 5:30 pm it started to just pour. Ridiculous rain.

These are pics of Garrett's sidewalk in front of his building. In a matter of minutes it flooded.
The thunder and lightning, along with the power going out, freaked all of us out. I neglected to take pictures because we were cuddling with the kids. Luckily, it didn't last long.

But, during the peak of the storm, our neighbor's wooden playset and trampoline blew over their fence into our yard. Also, one of my Dad's orange trees uprooted!

Here's some reference pics to help visualize what happened. These pics were taken after the wooden playset had been cleared. That wooden playset you see on the left blew over the fence into our driveway.

Here's the remnants of the trampoline and the large holes that were left. We're so thankful no one was hurt!

My Uncle decided to try replant the tree...
Low and behold it's sprouting! YAY!
We think we had extra strong wind come through one part of the yard, which caused the neighbor's playset and our tree to bear the brunt of it!

Kendyll started preschool! She was SO excited and has been doing great!

We welcomed our new cousin Kaleb into this crazy family!

Since Chaz's mommy and daddy were busy with Kaleb, we took him out to the movies...

then brought him to sleep over. The boys had so much fun playing outside.

No tears for Cade's first day of Kindergarten! WHOO HOO!

He and Daddy earned a reward for having a great first day!

Lastly, Garrett's baseball season has started up again, which means we get to spend our Sundays watching him!

These two crazies how been Daddy's biggest fans and cheerleaders! It's so cute how they're the only ones cheering... but Garrett loves it! :)

Happy 5th Birthday Cade!

Whoop whoop! We have a 5 year old in the house now! Wow, hard to believe it's been 5 years!

Cade wanted this green backpack for school. Plain... green... that's all. Sorta like a ninja turtle I guess?

A garbage truck was also on his present list

A few days after Cade's actual birthday, we celebrated at his preschool! Pizza and cake for all! Happy 5th birthday Cade!
You know how I love to reminisce, so click here Cade for when he was born.. turned 1... 2...3... and 4!

4th of July...

I figured I better catch up on July happenings since August is just a couple days away!
We had a low key 4th of July here. Played some fireworks and poppers that were leftover from the New Year!

We also continued our tradition of watching the annual Makawao Parade. The kids got to use their chairs and had front row seats!
