Darin and Erin's visit!

Our good friends,Darin and Erin, came to visit us and we spent Easter weekend showing them around Seattle. Thought it would be nice to show them UW's cherry blossoms.

Then we went to the Pacific Science Center and had fun being a kid!
Finally, had a great dinner at the Crab Pot on the Seattle waterfront. Darin, Erin, and I shared that large pile of seafood you see in the middle of the table. However, it was too much for the girls and Darin was the big eater of the night!
Thank you for such a great weekend! Erin fell in love with Sporty and we had to check her bags before she left to make sure she didn't sneak him in!

Quick trip home for Marina and Chester's wedding

Geez, time is really flying by! I told myself I was going to try to update this blog weekly. Not happening. We were fortunate to be able to go home for Marina and Chester's wedding in the middle of the month. Flew standby to Oahu in first class! It was awesome! Didn't have to wait in line to use the bathroom...which was a great thing since the flight was extra long (6.5 hours because of head winds) and I'm pregnant.

Decorating the reception area on Friday

Decorating the ceremony on Saturday. We spent less than an hour in the sun, but got BURNT! That's how haole we are! AGH. At least we have a little bit of color now.

Chaz boy (Kasey and Mark's baby) is 5 months now and we got to "practice"!

Isn't he cute!

Meet the Patocs!

Garrett stayed home a few days more than I did this trip. It's usually the opposite, so I was really jealous and not happy. A weekend trip home is not enough and just a tease. He spent more time with all the cuzins and their babies.

I love this pic! Chaz boy and Callie meeting

New Car!

As we plan and prepare for the arrival of baby, we decided it wasn't practical to keep our beloved truck. Garrett was eager a few weeks ago to go look at used Highlanders; I wasn't. But, we ended up trading in the truck and getting a new 2008 Highlander! We love it! We still miss our trucky, but we know we were going to have to get rid of it sooner or later. Garrett just didn't realize it would be so soon!

Ultrasound photos and update!

Had an ultrasound yesterday. It was amazing! Didn't know it would take 45 minutes for the technician to look at all baby's organs and parts. Fascinating what technology can do! It's almost certain baby is a boy! He wasn't afraid to show us anything. He kept moving around a lot; our favorite part was looking at his face and seeing him yawn! I didn't need to drink any liquid before the ultrasound and thought I had relieved myself before, but about half way through, it got very uncomfortable. Even the tech made a comment that she notice my bladder was getting full. Geez, thanks...

This first picture is the stereotypical profile picture. Baby is on its back and its head is on the right. Its arms were up in the air waving at us!

This second photo is a picture of his face. He's on his left side looking at us; you can see his right eye socket really well and his mouth. It's sorta creepy! Looks more like a skeleton since he doesn't have a lot of fat on his body yet.

Baby's due date is still around the 20th of July. Everything is growing evenly and in proportion. I've gained 3-4 lbs since my first doctor's appointment on the 31st of December. Not bad, but it feels like 20 lbs. Cravings are gone; it's Garrett that craves Wendy's frosty floats. Been feeling awesome; no sickness and just a little tired. Baby is going on his first plane ride to Maui in a few weeks. Can't wait!

February Already!

Wow, can't believe how time is flying by!
We had a bridal shower for Marina last weekend, before Superbowl.
So all the decorations you see were up for a few hours,
and then Garrett requested them down... party pooper.
We still had a lot of fun; got manicures, played pictionary, laughed,
ate, laughed more, then made pompoms! Almost 1 more month!
Of course our "babies" were there too! Don't they look like they're related!
Ok, and a picture of the belly... finally. It's our 16 week picture.
Starting to show...a little. I'm at the stage where people are wondering
if I'm really pregnant or just gaining some extra winter weight.
I've told some of my students, but the ones who don't
know are polite and haven't asked yet.
Everyone has been telling me how all of a sudden
all the fatigue and morning sickness disappears!
This is the first week where I can start to believe them.
My new cravings are Sam Sato's dry saimin
(which I'll have to wait another month for) and cheese Pizza Hut pizza. And finally, this is what happens when the boys are bored. It's been cold here, so we decided to put some clothing on Sport. He absolutely HATES it! He thinks he's in trouble and refuses to move. The boys thought it would be funny to put his jacket on his hindlegs instead, and then stick one of his toys out the back...

Baby update!

Went in for another check-up. Baby is doing great! Strong hb at 160bpm. No ultrasound this time. Next one will be in 5 weeks to determine sex and make sure everything is going ok. My morning sickness is gone; fatigue sets in from 4-9pm. Trying my hardest not to nap, and it's hard to fall asleep when the nagging husband is telling you to go exercise. Gained maybe 2 lbs, but feels like 20! Cravings: Chicken McNuggets and waffles. Oh, and I can eat eggs again!

On a different note...we had our first snow day of the year. Too bad it was a non-student day, which we'll have to make up anyway. Sport was eager to go outside and sniff out the snow. He didn't know what to do and then started doing his "pointer pose"! (He heard the neighbor shoveling.) Supposed to get more snow again tonight! Poor boys still had to drive in to work...

Baby's First Picture!

We had our first doctor's appointment on the last day of 2007. What a great way to end the year!

Baby is healthy and strong and we're further along than we expected...11 weeks! Estimated due date is July 20. Doctor asked us if we already wanted to know her thoughts about what sex it is... about 80% chance it's a BOY! But we all know it's really early to know the exact sex. We'll just have to wait and see!

The actual ultrasound looked a lot better than this picture...it doesn't do any justice. Had to label all the parts because it's so difficult to see, and we know our parents would be asking, "What is that?"

Morning sickness is now late afternoon tiredness. Cravings are starting to disappear too! :)
